NEWTOWN, CT —Police arrested a local teen Thursday for stealing a car earlier this year while he was appearing in court on an unrelated matter. Bryan Gomez, 18, of Newtown , was charged by police with third-degree larceny stemming from an incident on Oct. 1 when a stolen Volkswagen Jetta was abandoned on Bancroft Road near the intersection with Pole Bridge Road after getting into a collision on the highway.
