Coming up here at the CVA |
|
On September 8th we had our cruise night at Mark's Autoparts, we had 56 cars show up! Thanks to everyone that made it out. Next was the 401 Restos Ren-dez-vous in Rhode Island, this was a little rainy, but a whole lot of fun! Thanks to those guys for their hospitality. Also that day was the Johnson VT show, I hear that that show had around 100 cars and one of our own took a 1st place trophy(congrats Tim M!).
Now for the upcoming stuff! This weekend is the All Aircooled gathering in Flanders, New Jersey, see our website for info www.ctvwa.com. Also this weekend is our bi-weekly cruise at the Dunkin Donuts at the intersection of routes 31 & 44 in Coventry CT at 7pm on Friday night, this cruise has gotten huge! We regularly have over 30 cars, mostly watercooled. I'd like to see some more aircooleds show up for this, I'm even driving the bus this week. Next on the list is the Classic Car Cruise at Coventry High School in Coventry CT on this Saturday. This is a local show for me and the people running it asked if some of us could bring our old VWs, it's a first year show and put on by the high school students as a project. The admission is free and it runs from 11 -5. Then, on Sunday is the Simsbury fly-in in Simsbury CT. This show has airplanes and vintage cars, last year there were over 220 airplanes and over 30 0 anti que cars! It re ally is a lot of fun and this is where I will be on Sunday. See www.simsburyairport.com for more info.
Okay, moving on! The next Saturday, the 27th is the Beetle Meet & Eat in Chicopee, this is a cruise and is a great time! After that will be Cartoberfest on October 5th in New Hartford CT. Then the next weekend is Transporterfest in Brookline MA on October 12th, with camping the night before. Finally is our CVA 10th Annual Fall Foliage Cruise on October 19th.
As you can see it has been a busy year and the end of it is no exception! Please try to attend at least one of these events to help support our hobby. There will be more info on all of these shows on the website shortly. Also, follow our group discussions at

Special thanks to the great folks at the Putnam Cruise Night for letting us bring 13 VW's to the event and announcing our show plans for the next day.
